Description

More Reformed!Wendigo! Josh :D This time a sort of story(thing) to go along with his faces of returning back to normal.
Basically:
1: Partially-transformed Wendigo Josh, acts like a Wendigo and isn't mentally Josh anymore
2: Still pretty much a Wendigo, but his gashed open mouth is starting to heal up, and he's less vicious
3: After getting the Wendigo spirit exercised out of his body, there are still flashes of Josh in there, but he is deeply scarred
4: Josh begins to remember who he is, speaking once is a while, mostly spacing out
5: (you are here) Relapse Josh: His body is jarred by suddenly not being a Wendigo anymore. His body is trying to adjust to returning back to normal, causing him to be physically and mentally ill.
Not sure if I want to count this on my cannon of Reformed!Josh or not, but it does good for story writing!:3

Anyways, onto the story!
It had been exactly two months since Josh had been exorcised of the Wendigo spirit. He was no long in a strait jacket restrained by tight bonds in the psychiatric ward. Josh was now living in Sam's house until he was well enough to return to his own.
Sam sighed as she leaned over the counter, picking boxes of food out of the sink. She knew Josh had shoved them in there, though she wasn't quite sure why. He'd have random episodes of sporadic behavior when left un-supervised. And had a knack for doing peculiar things that made no sense; Like hiding Sam's car keys or clothes in vents. She still hadn't found her collection of video games yet.
Josh was no means hard to take care of. After all, she reflected, he spent most of his time curled up on the sofa, asleep. Sam's short lived happiness of freeing her friend from the Wendigo curse was short lived when he went into relapse.
It was January, and by no means exactly warm outside, but Josh would wear the warmest clothes he could find. Complaining about being "So cold. So cold."

Sam could hear his words echoing in her mind. She closed her eyes, thinking about how weak, pathetic and utterly sad and lost he looked. His eyes weren't that inquisitive caring deep green she'd come to know and love, they were the pale dead and blind blue of the Wendigos. The doctors said they weren't certain, but the partial transformation may have affected his eye-sight and hearing. Sam had been observing his behavior and how alien it was. He wouldn't look at her unless she walked directly up to him and prodded his shoulder. If she called Josh's name he'd jump up, startled, and look around. On the rare times he'd actually get up to move, his posture was very strange; he'd keep his arms close to his chest and take tentative steps, testing the ground under-foot as if it was ice.
Sam missed her old friend; his kind and gentle manner, the way he'd always be out to prank someone. She realized it had been an entire week since she'd seen her friends; Matt, Mike, Jessica, Chris, Ashley and Emily. She wondered what they were up to and if they were enjoying themselves.
Chris had issues being around Josh. Sam could see the guilty look in his eyes as he look at his friend; small and sick, gazing out into nothing. She wondered if they'd ever be the friends they'd used to be again. Sam was snapped out of her thoughts by a distant thumping sound.
"Oh no..."
She groaned. Josh probably got up from his resting place on the couch. And by the sound of the thump she assumed he had either run blindly into the door, or had finally figured out how doors worked and opened on of them. She silent hopped it wasn't the front door. A loose Josh in the streets would not only be a danger to others but a danger to himself. Sam quickly walked out of the kitchen and through the short hall leading to the living room.

On her way she realized Josh hadn't eaten today. Despite being possessed by blood-thirsty Wendigos, he showed a surprising lack of interest in eating food, and would only eat small portions of anything during the day. He was very thin and looked much smaller than he used too, lacking the muscle he once had. Sam was told by the doctors to not allow him to eat any meat, as it might cause him to become vicious and attack her. She mused to herself how tiny weak and practically blind Josh would be able to injure her.
Sam quickened her pace, running into the living room. Josh wasn't in his usual spot. She cursed under her breath, looking under the sofa and bending down to look behind the television set in hopes of finding him. No luck.
She noticed from the corner of her eye the bathroom door was slightly ajar. Panic quickly filled her. What if Josh accidentally broke a mirror and cut himself? The last thing she need was to stitch up more wounds him.

Sam stood up, quietly dashing across the carpet towards the bathroom door. She quietly opened it a crack, brown eyes looking in. She saw Josh standing in front of the mirror. He was shaking lightly, as though he was trying to figure out how to sob again. She heard a faint drip drip sound, and noticed he was jabbing with his hand at the left side of his face.
"Josh!" she gasped, dashing to his side. He didn't jump this time as she grabbed his arm and pulled it away from his face. Blood dripped from the side of his mouth where he was jabbing at the scab growing over it. His mouth was slowly trying to heal up from his lips stretching, giving him a glasgow smile.
"Oh, Josh..." she said quietly, sad concern on her voice. She pulled a white cloth out of her pocket and gently tried to stop the flow of blood. Josh showed no sign of acknowledging her presence there. He slowly lifted his arm and pressed it against the mirror. "Josh," sad continued to brush at his bleeding mouth, reaching her arm around his to reach better. "You can't be tearing at your face, it won't heal that way-"

"Sam."
The sound of her name, spoken so softly but assuredly stopped her from her cleaning. "What? What Josh?"
Sam lowered her arm, looking at Josh's face. He continued to stare at his reflection. She noticed his eyes focus forward, getting brighter as a white film covering them seemed to fade slightly.
"Sam. My face. What happened to my face?" He blinked several times. She noticed a very unsettling clear-eyelid substance over his eyes she hadn't noticed before. "Why's my face like this Sam? Did I do it" urgency she hadn't heard in his voice in so long made her choke slightly in sadness. She remembered hearing this urgency when Hannah and Beth went missing.
"Josh..." she was going to reach for his arm but she stopped as he looked right at her. She looked into his pale blue eyes, and noticed they were tinged faintly green. "Sam... my face."

Cloth in hand, same grabbed the sides of his face, his skin was cold, trying to not choke on the tears of happiness. She didn't care if blood was getting all over her clothing and hands, because it didn't matter; Josh recognized her. And she couldn't be more happy. "Josh! You recognized me! You recognize me, right Josh?" She sobbed, pressing her forehead against his. Josh didn't say anything, and instead looked her eye, the bags under his pale eyes so evident. He suddenly looked tired.

She buried her face into the jacket he was wearing. "Yes Sam... why wouldn't I recognize you? Where... are we?"
"Home Josh, home. We're at my house. We're not at that awful place. You're safe now! They're not going to hurt you anymore."
Shock and realization crossed Josh's face sudden. He pushed Sam's face out of his chest to look at her better. "I... the last thing I remember is... so many awful things..."
He looked off into the distance again, the horrors of what he had seen still evident on his face. "And... flashes of you and Matt... and a white room. And a man running tests on me..."
Sam continued to try, holding her friends hand in her own. Josh didn't seem to noticed and just looked at her with deep sadness, hoping for answers. "Josh, they found you in the mines. You... were..." She stopped herself, feeling it best not to mention how he had been eating the decapitated head of that strange man they had met, and how he had attacked and killed several police guards. "...You were a Wendigo for a while. But they found you when I told them to go into the mines. They found you and they helped you!" She hugged him tightly.

"Oh..." Josh stood there, silent for several moments. He seemed to be struggling to comprehend anything. He wobbled slightly as though drunk. Sam just sobbed against his chest, muttering incoherently. "I'm tired Sam..." He leaned his head on her shoulder, burying his face into her turtle neck. He rapped his arms around her, clinging to her warmth.
"I bet you are." She smiled happily, taking his hand and dragging him out of the bathroom. She noticed his pulled the beanie off his head, surprised it was even there.
Josh curled up on the couch, trying to fall asleep. Sam quietly edged herself next to him, cover both of them with a blanket. Josh opened on eye to look at Sam, smiling softly. He rapped his arm around her and feel asleep.
